Working Waterfront Festival announces T-shirt design contest
New Bedford, MA, May 6, 2008— The Working Waterfront Festival invites artists 16 years and older to submit a
creative design for the 2008 Festival T-Shirt. Designs should convey festival’s emphasis on the commercial fishing industry and the working port.
The winning entry will receive a $150 cash prize. Entries must be emailed by or postmarked no later than May 30th. The winning entry and designer will be announced at the June 12 AHA Night in Downtown New Bedford!

The Working Waterfront Festival is an award winning, family friendly event celebrating the history and culture of
New England's commercial fishing industry. The free festival presents all that goes into bringing seafood from the ocean to the table in a way that is hands-on, educational and fun and features: live music, children’s activities, cooking demonstrations, vessel and harbor tours, fisherman’s contests, author readings, film screenings, local seafood, festival bookstore, maritime artisans marketplace & more. The theme for the 2008 Festival is Connecting
Communities, Preserving Ports. This year’s Festival dates are September 27th & 28th.
The Cape Verdean Association’s of Taunton had a very successful scholarship fundraising dance in honor of the Elizabeth “Betty” Paulo. The dance was held April 25th at the Mansfield Holiday Inn. A large crowd was treated to the wonderful sound of Eye to Eye, one of Boston’s top R & B Bands.
