On Saturday, May 4th  over 100 youths attended an event that offered music, skate boarding, basketball and other activities at Carney Academy in New Bedford’s westend.
In light of the economic recessions, global warming and othr challenges facing the city and the country hip hop female artist Rha Goddess encouraged the crowd of young people to remember that we are not alone. She challenged her listeners to address the sources of their anger and fear and then move on and work together toward positive change in their city and world.
Rha Goddess said that it was time to come home to the truth of our higher selves. She encourage the young audience to start telling the truth.
Rha told the youths not to allow themselves to fall prey to what she called the “toxic myths of extreme capitalism” that there is not enough to go around, that more is better, and that we must compete with each other to get ahead.
